Specificity is knowing exactly what it is you are focused on. The precise image or picture of what you wish to materialise or realise is clear in your mind’s eye.
I love sharing this story because it’s become my go-to reminder that manifestation isn’t some mystical concept – it’s as real and practical as finding exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
My Pride and Joy
My TAG Heuer watch was my pride and joy. I had always wanted a TAG and had finally purchased one – a big, solid watch that was nice and heavy. I wore it loose on my wrist because I liked the way it felt.
But here’s the thing about wearing a watch loose: it puts additional stress on the screws at the bracelet clip. Because of that, the very tiny screws at that connection point continually worked their way loose.
The Ongoing Frustration
Over several months, I’d been visiting my mate Dick Donnell at Donnell Jewellers to have him retighten these screws. It wasn’t a big deal, and Dick never asked for money for this friendly service he regularly performed. It was just a little bit frustrating because it kept happening.
The irony? Somewhere at home, I owned three sets of those little “6-to-a-set” screwdriver sets. I just couldn’t put my hands on them when I needed them. They were very inexpensive to purchase – only seven or eight dollars per set at Bunnings.
But I didn’t want to purchase yet another set, so I kept calling in to Donnell Jewellers for my watch’s running repairs.
The Moment of Perfect Clarity
The screws were coming loose again, and I recall saying to myself: “All I need is one of those screwdrivers!”
I could see in my mind’s eye the exact screwdriver I needed. Not just any screwdriver – the precise one. The right size, the right type, the exact tool for this specific job.
The Universe Delivers
As I climbed out of my truck at the Edgeware Post Shop, the watch bracelet popped open yet again as the little screw had worked its way loose.
I looked at the ground as I stepped onto the footpath, and there, lying in the gutter, was the exact screwdriver I needed.
Perfect specificity… at exactly the moment I needed it.
The Lesson That Changed Everything
This is one of my favourite lessons and reminders that the law of attraction is in play all the time.
We can use specificity to cause exactly what we need, as long as we:
- Know exactly what it is we need
- Focus our mind upon it with clarity
- Hold that precise image in our mind’s eye
If you approached this logically or with traditional thinking, it would seem impossible to find this exact screwdriver in a large city, randomly, at the exact moment you needed it.
Fortunately for me, I don’t always think logically!
The Real Value
The monetary value of this little screwdriver is probably 50 cents or a dollar. But the lesson it taught me – and continues to remind me of – has been invaluable.
This tiny tool sits in my toolbox now, a daily reminder that when we get specific about what we need and focus our minds clearly, the universe has a way of delivering exactly what we’re looking for.
